Marathon Shuffle 2026 – Waitlist and Withdrawing

Waitlist and Withdrawing

Updated 15 March 2026

Withdrawing or Changing Your Registration Information

If, for whatever reason, you won’t be able to make it to the start, please withdraw as soon as possible.

Folks on the waitlist will be very grateful. Knowing they are registered allows people to book hotels, organize their training and otherwise make plans. The organizers won’t have to pay for buses with empty seats due to no-shows. (This helps us to continue hosting the Shuffle for free.) Most importantly, your good name won’t end up on the Wall of Shame (the bottom of the results page under DNS for Did Not Show-up.)

If you have to withdraw or change what you entered when you registered, our registration system makes it easy!

Find Your Account in Karelo

  • First, find the email you received from us confirming your entry. If you printed it off, it’s likely in your sock drawer. If you can’t find the hard copy, try searching your email inbox for ‘Marathon Shuffle 2026: Registration confirmed’. You’ll likely find it dated 1 February 2026.
  • Next, log in to your account with your Karelo Login Name and Password
  • You should now see ‘My Account’ in the upper-right corner of the screen:

Make Changes

  • ‘My Profile’. Click here to make changes. For example, you changed your mind about driving to the start and would prefer to take a bus, you moved and need to change your address, tel or to delete a profile if you have multiple profiles.

Withdraw

  • ‘My Registrations’. Click here if you’re injured or otherwise need to withdraw. Click on your registration number (e.g. 879398). Scroll down to just past your credit card information at the bottom of the page and click ‘Cancel This Registration’.  Don’t forget to press ‘Save’!

Note: If you must withdraw, please do so at least three (3) days before the event.

Instructions on how to withdraw are also under “How do I withdraw or change my information” on the FAQ page.

Waitlist

It’s now been six weeks since registration opened, and all 325 starting positions for the 2026 Marathon Shuffle were snapped up.

Our Karelo registration system does a great job of keeping track of the order folks signed up to the waitlist. As of today (mid-March), there are 80 people on the waitlist. In case you were wondering where you stand, here’s the current waitlist.

If you’re on the waitlist, is there a possibility you’ll get in? You bet there is! Last year, almost 100 people withdrew. While there is no guarantee that many will withdraw this year, there is hope… and a statistically good chance.

Starting on 15 March, and roughly every 2 weeks thereafter, we will reconcile withdrawals against the waitlist. So, if 20 people withdraw, we’ll invite the first 20 from the waitlist. The last reconciliation will be the week before the Shuffle.

Note: Most folks who sign up for the event don’t plan to withdraw. If circumstances require them to withdraw, it’s often not until April, so keep training and keep your fingers crossed.

Thank you…and ‘hope your training is going well!
